IPSS Partners With Pediatric Special Interest Groups

The International Pediatric Simulation Society (IPSS) is proud to partner with multiple Special Interest Groups (SIGs) from around the world focused on the crossroads of Pediatric/Perinatal Medicine and Simulation-based Education.

In so doing, IPSS aims to provide ongoing information regarding the meetings and activities of these groups in order to promote international awareness, sharing, networking and collaboration. This way, the international pediatric simulation community can stay aware of activities independent of one’s ability to attend a specific meeting or event

This page is therefore dedicated to the culmination of that work -- the work of SIGs from around the globe—and in this way to continue to build a strong international voice for pediatric simulation world-wide.

Please check back often as we will be continuously updating this page as a repository of current information including syllabi and slide sets from meetings.

EDUCATION (SMBE) SIG

From Taylor Sawyer MD, SIG Co-Chair: "The APA SIG on SBME (Simulation Based Medical Education) is a forum for pediatric educators with an interest in the use of simulation to facilitate teaching and learning. With support from the APA this SIG will provide an opportunity for APA members to network, share ideas, resources, and experiences in the development and use of simulation in pediatric medical education. The SIG will enable members to keep up to date with national simulation initiatives and potential funding opportunities as well as provide support, help, and advice on the effective design, development and evaluation of SBME initiatives. Annual meetings will take place at the PAS annual conference, and on-demand meetings will be conducted via teleconference."
